The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute once again played a prominent role at the European Hematology Association (EHA) 2026 Congress, one of the world’s leading scientific meetings in the field of hematological diseases. The Institute’s presence at this international event highlights the global impact and recognition of its research.

During the congress, held in Stockholm, the Institute’s researchers presented 13 scientific studies covering areas such as leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, cellular therapies, and immunotherapy, sharing their latest findings with the international scientific community and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in hematology.

In addition to presenting their research, several members of the Institute participated as speakers and session chairs, further consolidating the Institute’s position as an international leader in biomedical research.

One of the highlights of the congress was the recognition of Dr Josep Maria Ribera, a researcher at the Josep Carreras Institute, who received the EHA Clinical Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding career and his contributions to advancing the understanding and treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

As part of the congress, the Institute also organised a joint workshop with the Karolinska Institutet, aimed at strengthening collaboration between both institutions and fostering new research projects in haemato-oncology.

The Institute’s participation in EHA 2026 reinforces its commitment to research excellence, international collaboration, and the development of innovative strategies to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life of people living with leukaemia and other malignant blood disorders.
