Solidarity once again took centre stage at the 31st Josep Carreras Gala held in Germany, which raised €3,463,948 to support the fight against leukaemia and other serious blood and bone marrow diseases.

Broadcast live by MDR from Leipzig, the event brought together leading national and international figures from the music and cultural scene. Artists such as Thomas Anders, Chris de Burgh, Álvaro Soler, Beatrice Egli, Santiano, Rolando Villazón and Jonathan Tetelman, together with the renowned Dresdner Kreuzchor, delivered powerful performances marked by emotion and commitment to the cause.

The Foundation’s founder, Josep Carreras, expressed his deep gratitude for the support received: “Every euro counts. Since our first gala in 1995, we have been able to allocate nearly €250 million to medical research and social programmes thanks to the generosity of our donors.”

The evening also featured the participation of numerous well-known figures from television, culture and sport, who actively supported the telephone donation panel, as well as a moving collective performance of the song “Ein Kompliment”, created as part of the campaign leading up to the gala.

Once again, the Josep Carreras Gala demonstrated that the combination of music, commitment and solidarity is essential to continue moving towards a future in which leukaemia can one day be cured.
