The Josep Carreras Foundation, the Spanish National Transplant Organisation (ONT) and Renfe have renewed their collaboration agreement to strengthen and update the procedures for transporting organs, tissues and hematopoietic stem cell products for transplantation. The agreement enhances coordination between the three organisations to ensure the fast, safe and efficient transport of these life-saving materials on Spain’s high-speed rail network.
One of the key updates introduces a specific protocol to facilitate the transit of couriers carrying bone marrow and other hematopoietic stem cell products on high-speed trains, helping to reduce transport times and ensuring that these donations reach transplant centres in optimal conditions for patients.
