Innomed Awards boost seven emerging biomedical projects with healthcare transfer potential

The Innomed Awards have recognised seven innovative biomedical projects with strong potential for translation into clinical practice, reinforcing their commitment to fostering innovation and transforming scientific knowledge into solutions that improve people’s health. Among the selected initiatives is PRE-T-CURE, led by Dr Laura Mondragón, a researcher at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.

The awarded projects address key challenges in areas such as the development of new therapies, diagnostics, personalised medicine, and medical technologies, with the aim of bringing scientific advances closer to clinical practice and generating a tangible impact on patient care.

At the Josep Carreras Institute, the PRE-T-CURE project seeks to develop novel immunotherapy strategies to improve the treatment of haematological diseases, reflecting the Institute’s strong commitment to translational research, turning scientific discoveries into future therapeutic options for patients.

The third edition of the Innomed Awards brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, industry representatives, and innovation experts to showcase emerging talent and strengthen collaboration between the scientific community and the business sector. The initiative is part of the Innomed programme, which promotes innovation, project incubation, and technology transfer within the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus.

Through initiatives such as these, the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute continues to reinforce its commitment to research excellence, advancing knowledge of leukaemia and other blood disorders while accelerating the development of innovative diagnostic tools and therapies that can improve patients’ lives.
