The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Foundation and the Spanish Group for Haematopoietic Transplantation and Cell Therapy (GETH-TC) have launched the first Josep Carreras Grant, a new initiative designed to promote clinical research and innovation in the field of bone marrow transplantation.
This call, endowed with €300,000 entirely funded by the Foundation, marks a milestone in the collaboration between both organisations and reinforces their joint commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in oncohaematological diseases. The grant is aimed at researchers within the GETH-TC network, which brings together 73 hospitals across Spain, more than 1,500 professionals, and two partner centres in Portugal, making it one of the leading bone marrow transplant and cell therapy networks in Southern Europe.
Conditions and timeline
The Josep Carreras Grant will have an initial duration of two years. It is intended to support clinical research projects that help improve outcomes and quality of life for patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation.
The application period is now open and will remain available until 15 February 2026. The guidelines and application forms can be found on the official channels of GETH-TC and the Josep Carreras Foundation.
The grant decision and award ceremony will take place on 12 March 2026, during the “Josep Carreras Foundation Symposium”, held within the framework of the GETH-TC annual congress in Málaga. The selected project will also be presented during this event.
