ADVENT CALENDAR: “The spirit of Christmas is a window of hope that we can open everyday”

What is the spirit of Christmas? No, we are not referring to the ghosts from the Disney film that appear to remind people of their duties and responsibilities. For us at the José Carreras Foundation against Leukaemia, Christmas is of equal importance to the rest of the year in terms of our perseverance towards the goal that one day, leukaemia will be a 100% curable disease.

Despite this, we believe that Christmas does have a special aura, a certain je ne sais pas that makes people more sensitive, more human. For us Christmas is a fondness for the past, value for the present, and hope for the future. Or we could say it is the tenderness of the children who have to fight against leukaemia, the bravery and courage of their families and the hope of a future without leukaemia. We will only realize this future if we fight TOGETHER and we continue RESEARCHING.

With all this in mind, we have created a very special advent calendar to show you what we do as a charity, to recount some personal stories of patients, to give you ideas to collaborate, and above all to celebrate the arrival of Christmas together. This Christmas, WE are ALL TOGETHER against leukaemia. HELP US TO HELP!
