Sr. Carreras libro

The book, which captures the memoirs of José Carreras, has been on sale since the 6th of October 2011.  The tenor published his personal memoirs in a book made with the writer Màrius Carol.  It has been 64 years of continuous efforts and improvements, tenderness and crudeness that have given him a pleasant maturity, full of affection from his family and fans, and have thrown him into the fight against leukaemia with the foundation took his name.

A viva voz is the title of the memoirs in which the tenor form Catalonia recalls his memories from the day in his childhood when he discovered his fascination for singing during the projection of The Great Caruso in a local cinema.  From that moment, stemmed his big triumphs and his work with the best orchestra directors and most famous artists:  Herbert von Karajan, Zubin Mehta, Montserrat Caballé, Plácido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti… till leukaemia arrived, when he was in his best professional moment, and changed his life radically.

After his recovery, José Carreras felt he had to give back all the affection he had received from his fans and doctors and this is how José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation was born in 1988.

A viva voz is a brave testimony about life, effort and hope.

A viva voz, by José Carreras and Màrius Carol, is edited by Plaza&Janés.  It can also be found in catalan, titled De viva veu and edited by Rosa dels vents.
