More that 6,4 million Euros raised by Jose Carreras to help the fight against leukaemia, during the XV televised gala in Germany.
Once again, the German public have demonstrated their immense generosity by responding to the call to fight leukaemia. The 15th benefit gala hosted by the José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation has raised more than 6,4 million Euros in donations. This charity marathon, which took place last 17th of December in Leipzig, was televised on the german channel ARD.
To achieve this success, José Carreras collaborated with renowned artists who performed during the event, including Andrea Boccelli, Paul Potts or Milow, and many more.
The fifteenth benefit gala organised by the José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation has raised more that 82,4 million Euros to help in the fight against leukaemia. The Foundation will invest these funds in scientific research; the promotion of the bone marrow register and search for bone marrow and umbilical cord blood donors to help patients who do not have compatible family members; the improvement of hospital infrastructures; and the social services provided to the patients and their families.
