Hello! We are Isina’s parents. In May 2017, when Isina was just 21 months old and had a wonderful smile, she was a little tired, limping and had some bruises.
On 25 May we received the terrible news: Isina had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, the most common childhood cancer.
Life changed, but Isina’s smile was still there, giving us all strength. In the hospital we found a second home, wonderfully cared for by the doctors and nurses and also by all the health staff, hospital classrooms, volunteers, Galbán Association, Clowntigo… We have so many people to thank!
Although it is a very tough process, it is important to stay strong and keep going.
The hospital stays became less frequent and we were able to start going on excursions, trips, going out with friends… and starting school! In July 2019 we finally finished the treatment and life returned to a (long-awaited) normality.
We will always be grateful to all those who helped us throughout this journey. Without the support of family, friends and fellow travellers it would have been much harder. We will continue in the fight to raise awareness for childhood cancer together with the Galbán Association and always Unstoppable with the Josep Carreras Foundation. And with our missing comrades always, always in our hearts.
Be a superhero. Donate bone marrow, donate life.
